Blissfully Domestic ~Everything you need to make family life easier~

My next sites will launch a week from today. My wonderful friend Karla (Looking Towards Heaven) made the banner and will be running the site and the accompanying social site with me.

We have so many wonderful women on board, many of whom you already know, who will be editors and featured authors. I'll let the names remain a mystery until Monday. ;)

Here is the Blissfuly Domestic Lowdown-

  • It is not just for homeschool families, however, I felt homeschoolers needed a fun, hip and informative site that catered to them as well.
  • Blissfully Domestic will cover "everything you need to make family life easier!" That, Friends of Fussy, is a promise. It will be full of wonderful things.
  • Hacks will be submitted by YOU, yes, you, and then published on the site. This will be in the spirit of ParentHacks. I love how parents all over get to share their ideas. However, our hacks will cover many categories.
  • We will have a special forum, similar to The League of Extraordinary Wives, dedicated to the Blissfully Domestic Reader Community. This group will be open to the public and will cover topics from Blissfully Domestic.

What will Blissfully Domestic cover?

  • Homeschooling (my first love)
  • Inspiration-Devotions
  • Kid's Health- we have our own Doctor turned full-time-Mommy on staff!
  • Beauty
  • Marriage Building (sound familiar?)
  • Cooking & Weekly Menu Planning
  • Crafts & Fun Housewifery
  • Parenting

We still have openings available for bloggers interested in-

  • Organizing
  • Frugal Living
  • Decorating

Please contact me at iamfussypants@gmail.com if you would like to throw your hat in the ring.

What will the set up be for the posts?

  • Each of our editors and authors will post one to three times per week.
  • The Foodie Guru will provide weekly family friendly menu plans each weekend.
  • We will have daily reader submitted hacks. If your hack is submitted, you will forever be featured on our Hacker Blogroll! ;)

Is it just me or is this the most fun thing ever? YAY!

Love, Fussy

PS- I would love to hear your thoughts, Homeschoolers/Moms/Domestic Divas. What would make an all-in-one site even better for you? I would love to hear your ideas and suggestions.

Fussy Needs Your Homeschooling Opinions!

Help me all you Fabulous Mommies & Homeschoolin' Hotties.

I have three questions. You have all the answers.

1- Who inspires you?

Remember when I bragged gloated celebrated mentioned that the wonderful Shannon (Phat Mommy) has let me take over and re-launch her in-hiatus supa-fab site Homeschool Hacks?  I am neck-deep in the ins and outs of planning, learning and polishing the bloggy silver. I hope to re-launch the last week of January.

I want the site to be fun and informational. I love the 'Hack" theme. Who doesn't love Lifehacker and Parenthacks? Homeschool Hacks is a brilliant theme! Thanks, Shannon.;)

One new direction is to have a featured author each day. The famous and too wonderful for words, Melissa Wiley (Here in the Bonny Glen), and the fabulously smart and funny Nan (The Well Drained Mind) are both on board. I am just too thrilled for words about those great ladies.

There are hundreds of wonderful Homeschooling Bloggy Mommies, and I am searching out the authors who have inspired and helped so many of us. Who do YOU love?

2- What would you love to see on Homeschool Hacks?

Wonderful authors, fun ideas and lots of handy links -what else could you ask for? Lots, I hope.

I want to combine useful information, inspirational authors, humor and fun. I hope to follow in the steps of ParentHacks and have y'all email me your handy tips & ideas. I will write up my favorite ones daily and send out some linky-love to you and your blog. Cool, eh?

What would you like to see more of? Personal stories, daily links to great articles, crafty ideas for your kids, tips on 'juggling it all', videos of dancing monkeys?

OK, maybe not the dancing monkeys. I was just testing to see if you were still paying attention! ;)

3- Should I include fun tips, links and cheap psychological tricks (hee, hee) to make family life easier?

Homeschooling or not, we all need help raising our little monkeys! There's always discipline issues, mouths to feed, laundry to ignore. What about non-homeschool related posts and tips to make life a little easier? Good idea?

So help a Homeschoolin' Mutha out!

Who do you love? What do ya want? You ask, I'll deliver!

Feel free to either leave a comment or email me directly. I can't wait to hear your ideas.

Love, Fussy

My wonderful friend, the super classy and understated blogging rock star, Meredith (Like Merchant Ships) so gently urged me recently to occasionally write a short post without all the photos. She so kindly told me that I was funny and could do a post with just words. I just love her to pieces!

I tried Meredith, but I was weak, I can. not. post. with. out. eye-candy! ;)

2008 Year of the Bloggy Rawk Stah

Prepare yourselves for my very deep and well-thought-out resolution....

I shall become a bloggy Rock Star!

2008_rock_stah

OK, not really, but I do want to increase my readers and have some fun while I'm at it.

Seriously, there are two supa-fun things in the works:

1) I am starting a marriage site that will be based on the "Gentle Art of Ruling Your Husband" Series. The site will be full of tips, cheap psychological tricks, and real-life ideas for marriages.

2) Also, the-too-wonderful-for-words Shannon at Phat Mommy, is allowing me to take over her in-hiatus blog, Homeschool Hacks.

My plans are to keep up with the great direction she took it and to also feature articles cross-posted from other homeschooling mommies. Please drop a note via email to me with your ideas, tips and interest in being featured.

Also, how blessed am I that Shannon has given me this opportunity? I used to read Homeschool Hacks when I was building up the nerve to try homeschooling. To get to know Shannon via blogging and to do this....too cool for words.

It's gonna be a great year, Friends of Fussy,

Love to every single one of ya, Alli

Fussy Gets an Ultrasound

I have four messy, loving, loud, wild, adorable and infuriating sons. I may have mentioned them a few hundred times.

Boy_and_monkey_bw

Raising our little monkeys is an honor that Mr. Smartypants and I cherish and are exhausted by. We wouldn't trade a moment. Okay, maybe a moment or two. How about we wouldn't trade a day? No, we've had some yucky days. Hmmm...

Boy_in_potty

Anyhoo, I love them, got it? Here is a little Monkey Business 101 here in the Casa de Pants.

My four sons are a wee-tad loud.

4boys_roughhousing

They are always busy.

Boy_vintage_in_dirt

They always seem to need to be fed.

4boys_fridge

They always have some brilliance on the tip of their tongue.

4boys_frog_in_mouth

They are always helpful.

Boy_in_dishwasher

They enjoy the great outdoors.

Boys_muddy_2

They clean up real nice.

Boy_in_tp

They have varied interests.

4boys_day

Everyday is a new adventure.

Boy_vintage_car

What do they make me fantasize about?

Urinal

But not like that one, I want a fancy-schmancy designer urinal.

Urinal_flower

Now that is a pretty potty!

Other than that, how else do I feel about them?

Stock_xchng_heart_in_hands

They hold my heart in their grubby little fingers.

Today, Friends of Fussy, I have my ultrasound. Today I find out I'm having another boy the gender of baby #5.

Here is a look at the future...

Ultrasound

I'll let everyone know about the upcoming boy gender of the baby! Wish me luck!

Love, Fussy

My very own ‘Rule of Ten’

This was inspired by Melissa Wiley's blog, Here in the Bonny Glen.
If you homeschool, be sure to click over to her site on my sidebar. It is quite inspirational!
This is my very own list of what I hope to provide for the Monkeys on a daily basis. If it's not written out I have a tendency to forget my priorities.
I plan to type my list and print it on some lovely paper to frame and hang in my family room.
