"Insert Witty Title Thursday"
Hi Friends of Fussy! Welcome to the first ever "Insert-Witty-Title-Thursday." The super cute graphics and a permanent name will just have to wait a few weeks while we are in limbo. So please insert your own witty title for our Thursday happiness post, K?
Some favorites from last week are here. All the possible titles are great. I especially loved "Things-Don't-Suck-As-Much-As-I-Thought Thursdays" and "Happy Hour with Fussy" and "Stop Yer Whinin' Thursdays." Like everything else here on Fussypants, it's up to you, so feel free to name it whatever floats yer boat!
This week I am thrilled about love, forgiveness and family.
We spent a idyllic day visiting my cousin and her sweet family. We consider each other the sisters we never had and our kids are all crazy about each other. It is all this mutual love and affection that kept my lovely cousin from tearing my seven year old, Jack, limb from limb.
As my cousin and I relaxed on her back porch having a few cocktails and watching our kids play, our two seven year old children went to the front of the house and decided to destroy the paint wash her new car.
They washed her new Mercedes with. Soft. Scrub.
((((insert Fussy's screaming))))
Luckily she is a doctor, so she quickly restarted her own heart and regained her senses. Before she would tell me what happened or let me outside I was forced to promise not to punish my son. She said, "Oh Alli, Don't be mad at Jack. They both thought they were being so nice!"
After we washed the soft scrub away she even decided to document the event with a picture. Yeah, she's nice like that.
As a public service to the world, please go tell every child you know to never ever ever wash a car without permission. Ever.
And as usual the Fussypants Family gets by on the love and forgiveness of others. Isn't that what life is all about? And for all of this I am most thankful.
Now it is your turn. Whaddya love? What makes ya happy? Share how awesome you are. Toot your own horn! Simply link up your post and have fun.
I Love Ya, Fussy

Oh, Fussy!!!! Was the paint on the car scratched? I would have DIED!!!
When I was a teenager I wanted to help my mom by waxing the car. Which I didn't actually know how to do. (Guess I hadn't yet seen The Karate Kid.) It was a blistering hot day, but I toiled all afternoon applying the wax. That was, JUST applying the wax. I figured I'd save the polishing for last. After the 90-something degree sun had BAKED the wax into a permanent smeary mess.
Good thing my mom wasn't so much into having fancy cars. It was a bright orange Vega. Only, it wasn't so bright after I was through with it. Maybe I did some good after all!

Was the paint damaged?
Yep, I kinda hate Soft Scrub about now.
~sighs~
My cousin is a loving soul.

So, I'm kinda confused. Is it a title for this post? Or for all Thursday posts? And I'd LOVE to come up with a "love" thursday post. I'll think of one and be back for the Mistah Linky.
Muwha
P.S. I once had a friend who's sister used AJAX on her hair. "Isn't it SHINY!" she exclaimed at dinner. Kids. LOL

Oh goodness. Soft scrub. And such great intentions!
My post is photos of the loon family I photographed last weekend - and all the happy thoughts that went with the experience!
Very fun, Fussy - thanks for hosting!

Oh.my.gosh. I would have passed out right there on the spot.
And ya know how I said I would play this game as long as I didn't have to be thankful for my appliances? Well, I had a "regular" post scheduled about my appliances for tomorrow then just remembered that you were hosting this and I went, UH OH, I have to eat my words and find something to be thankful for about the same things that mock me daily. HA!

This will go down as one of the funniest memories in Jack's upbringing!! It will be talked about at ALL family events for the next 20 years. :-) Jack's cousin will tell the story at Jack's wedding, and vice versa. Oh my.. this is classic!
I'm totally glad your cousin got a picture!

I once washed a car with comet. Because my mom always said that you could use comet for ANYTHING. The paint? Yea... Destroyed. How old was I? Not telling. I was way, WAY old enough that I should have known better. It just never occurred to me that ANYTHING didn't include cars.

When my little sister was first learning to write her name she found a nail in the garage and wrote her name all over my Dad's new van! Oh the horror of it! I was just glad she only knew her name and hadn't gotten anyone else in trouble with her!

Oh my - I would probably have cried!!! I've got mine posted!!
Oh and to make you feel a little better, I made creamed spinach (among other things) for Father's Day, and Monday morning, I sent the leftovers to work with Budman - Unfortunately, the leftover container leaked. In the seat of our Brand. New. Car!!!! I am STILL in trouble - lol!!

Oh too precious...in that "I could just about throw you out with the bathwater" type of way. I sorta cheated with my Mr. Linky link in that I wrote that post a few weeks ago. But if this is something you're going to do more often I promise to write more new material! (I have plenty of ammo provided by my beautiful family!)

Okay the soft scrub photo has the best reflection of the sky on the hood!!!
Here is my title entry:
'Why limit HAPPY to just one hour?" or "The Good Stuff"
Oh- I am running to go tell my kids now to NEVER wash my car....

My girlfriends make me SO happy and I wrote about how rad they are today ;)
Posted by: Rhi | June 19, 2008 at 11:42 AM
oooh. No chance that's a non-scouring type of soft-scrub now, is there?
God bless your cousin. She seems to be a great woman. I know I'd have freaked, not on the kids, but definitely freaked!

Oh wow, I would have cried had I been on either end of that situation. It really sounds like your cousin is a saint.
Mine is up. Thanks for starting this!

I accidentally left a deep scratch on a friend's BRAND NEW truck last week. Oh yes, I did. Wish I could blame MY kid...

Ahhh...don't you just love it when young ones "help".
Posted by: Lalena | June 19, 2008 at 09:02 PM
I don't think I'd be able to restart my heart if my kids did that to my paint job. Not that it's a beautiful Mercedes, but I just can't imagine . . . They sure are cute though!
Posted by: Carrie | June 22, 2008 at 08:38 PM
OMG! I think I would D.I.E if my kid did that to someone's car!!!!! HOLY!!!!
Posted by: Debi B | June 23, 2008 at 12:02 AM
My 3 year old played racetrack around our Suburban a few weeks ago. With a Matchbox car. That must have had a rock embedded in the tire.
It was kind of fun watching my husband's head explode, though.

That is so funny! Almost as bad as my nephew drawing all over his dads car with permenant marker!
